Past-Life Therapy

Dick was one of the first people in the world to begin offering past-life therapy in the early 70s. Based up a lifetime of work in this field, he contends that everything we feel goes back to a cause, and the major problems, blocks, affinities and attractions we experience, always go back to a past-life cause. Even when it appears the situation was generated in this life, the karmic roots will be found in past-lives. “I always find the cause in the past, and this allows me to direct my client to a resolution in the present,” he says. There are five kinds of karma: Balancing, Physical, False Guilt, False Fear, and Reward Karma. If your problem is related to False Guilt or False Fear, it can usually be resolved in one session. But no matter what the situation, once you know the cause and complete a forgiveness process (forgiving yourself and everyone else involve in the cause situation), you can begin to free yourself from the effect.

Spirit-Contact Therapy

Spirit-Contact Therapy® uses an altered-state to establish contact with those who love, teach and guide you on the other side. Finding The Cause

Energy cannot die, it can only transform. And you are energy.

For over 30 years, I have been investigating reincarnation and karma with past-life regression and as a philosophical study. That’s a long time to keep one’s interest, but this subject never ceases to fascinate. Just when I think I fully understand, I will be working on a case and discover I’m dealing not just with reincarnation, but with an “entity attachment,” a “soul fragment” or a “parallel life” that somehow relates to the past life. Or I might combine astrology and regression to investigate a person’s karma and find that one mode of investigation exactly aligns with the other.

Finding new and better ways to conduct past-life regressions is also an ongoing challenge. Over the last year, in private and group sessions, I have been using a new “contact” technique that gets impressive results. Once my client is in a relaxing altered state of consciousness, I direct them back to the cause of a problem in their lives. It can be any kind of problem, from relationship conflicts, to a lack of abundance, to a chronic health issue. My client then begins to get impressions from an earlier time in this life, or a past life. How the impressions are perceived varies. A few people see dream-like images, others fantasy-like impressions, while some only sense what is happening. On occasion, people will hear an inner voice explaining the situation.

Once my client has an understanding of the cause, I move them into Higher-Self -- an all-knowing level of mind where they can quickly tap into awareness of their totality -- their soul’s journey.

At this level, I have them silently ask their spirit guide to join us. Also, any Master teachers who are willing to help in our cause-and-effect investigation. And if my subject desires, I have them call in anyone they once loved and trusted in life who is now in spirit. Once this powerful group is assembled in spirit, they can project answers to a person seeking understanding.

Most of the individual cases I have worked with the last couple years have been at professional hypnotherapy conferences in which I was teaching therapists my techniques. In the following case histories, my subjects were all therapists, and the sessions took place in front of a classroom of people.

Judgment

A middle-aged female participant shared that whenever she feels someone is judging her, it makes her crazy. So I did a quick “back-to-the-cause” regression. The woman began to tremble, and was soon reliving a situation in which her accusers had judged her to be a witch, and she was about to be hung.

Fibromyalgia

In another case, a woman in her mid-forties explained that she had fibromyalgia, which caused her to be in constant physical pain. Once she was in an altered state, I directed her up into Higher-Self to meet those who love, teach and guide her on a regular basis. At this mental level, and with the help of those in spirit, I directed her back to the real cause of her pain.

She began to describe her hard life as a Christian nun who resided in a tiny cell and suffered physically. I asked her to explain. She said, “Christ suffered for us, so we must suffer for him as well.” In seeking to understand the nun incarnation in relationship to her current life, my subject explained, “The physical pain began about the time I decided to devote my current hypnotherapy practice to Christ Consciousness work.

Somehow her unconscious mind “connected” the past-life suffering for Christ to a need to suffer doing similar work today. I directed her to release the past, acknowledge the false fear associated with the lifetime, and to release the pain.

Survival Orientation

In another exploration, a middle-aged woman explained she could never get ahead monetarily. In a back-to-the-cause regression, she perceived herself as a child living with her parents on a remote prairie. Her first impressions were of playing in a garden, surrounded by cabbages. But when progressed forward to an important event, she saw herself older, alone and desperate. The garden had dried up, her parents were dead, and she was starving. The session ended when she laid down and died.

My subject began to cry. From a Higher-Self level, she said, “Everything can be taken away from you just like that. You can lose it all. So today I keep so many emergency supplies around me I don’t have room for anything else. The trunk of my car is so full of emergency gear I don’t have room for groceries.” I directed her to release the past, the poverty consciousness and the false fears that were playing havoc with her current life. Over the lunch hour, she emptied out the trunk of her car and gave away all the emergency gear. “I don’t need it anymore,” she said.

Husband Becomes Dead To Wife

Another woman in her forties talked about her relationship with her husband and how she needed to get a divorce. “It’s like all the life just went out of him,” she explained. “It’s like he is alive, but dead.” In a back-to-the-cause regression, she saw herself as a male Viking, killing villagers for sport. He raped a woman, then shoved her over a cliff. One of the villagers managed to shove him over the cliff as well. He landed next to the woman he had just raped. As both lay dying, he watched as the woman’s blue eyes turned to brown and became the eyes of her current husband who has become dead to her.

Sexually Molested Four Times

A female therapist in her early forties told me she had been sexually molested by four different and unrelated adult males by the time she was six years old.

Before we began the past-life regression session, I knew we were going to be exploring some painful memories. As it turned out, the woman had been punishing herself as a molestation victim for 16 lifetimes. When we explored the cause, she vividly perceived herself as a male pedophile who relentlessly stalked young boys. “I can’t help myself,” he said. Eventually he killed one of the boys to protect himself.

Cause and effect -- 6 lifetimes of self-punishment in an attempt to resolve the guilt. Nothing carries over from one life to the next like guilt.

It is not God or the Lords of Karma that punish us. You are your own judge and jury. Thousands of years may pass, but if you still feel guilty, you may continue to seek absolution through “eye-for-an-eye” experiences.

In this case, I directed some cathartic forgiving and releasing. My subject cried and cried out. A room full of professional therapists observed, engrossed in the process. When the woman had sincerely forgiven herself and everyone else involved, I felt she had broken the chain of cause and effect, and she will not need to reincarnate as a victim again.

Overweight Woman

In another recent case, I hypnotized an extremely overweight woman in her mid-thirties. She had tried to lose the weight a dozen different ways, but always put the pounds right back on.

Deep in an altered state of consciousness, I directed her to go back to the cause of her weight problem, wherever it might be (this life or a past life). Stepping out of the time tunnel, she immediately began to describe her life as a harem girl to a nomadic desert chieftain. Seven women serviced the man’s needs. When visited by other leaders, the women were sometimes shared sexually with the visitors.

My client said she was the prettiest and youngest, so was in most demand. She enjoyed the sex and the lifestyle, until a time when she was loaned to visitors who hurt her badly. After that, she did not want to be chosen. She began to eat excessively. When very heavy, she was no longer the favorite and seldom had to perform sexually. “The pounds protect me,” she said.

Today, she is still using the pounds to protect her. Deep in trance, she relived being nearly raped in this life by a high school date. Shortly after the incident, she began to gain weight.

I directed an intense releasing process and laid the groundwork for reprogramming. In her daily meditation she now says, “I know the cause and I release the effect. I no longer need to physically protect myself with excess weight, so I lose pounds and stabilize at 130. I feel safe and content at this weight.”

She started off weighing 190. A few weeks after the regression, I received an e-mail saying, “Richard, I’ve already lost 35 pounds. Thank you, thank you.”

Entity Attachment

How much of my life is predestined? After years of research and writing in this field, it remains the number one unanswered question for me. I am, however, convinced the answer is different for everyone. I have no doubt we each set up this lifetime with a soul blueprint laying out key experiences and meetings with other people destined to join us on our earthly journey.

At the same time, we need to factor in free will.

I’m still trying to figure the free will/destiny aspects of a recent case that feels right out of the twilight zone.

At the International Federation of Hypnosis Conference in Long Beach, CA, I trained professional hypnotists in past-life regression techniques.

One of the group sessions included a “Back-to-the-Cause Regression,” which allows participants to find the cause of a problem wherever it began--in this life or a past life. During the follow-up discussion, Renee Sakr, a practicing hypnotherapist, explained she went into the session looking for the cause of her ongoing physical pain, which modern medicine has been unable to resolve. She said, that in regression all she saw was a little girl about seven years of age, standing looking out a window. The girl was terribly sad because her mother had died and her father had no time for her. She had no playmates.

“She was so lonely,” Renee said.

She then asked me if I would individually regress her as a demonstration for the other participants. I agreed and proceeded to direct her back to the cause of the physical pain. She again saw the little girl and could not move past the images. Intuitively, I realized the little girl was not Renee in the past, she was another entity who was right here, right now.

I asked Renee to communicate with the girl. This worked and the girl said her name was Jessica. We discovered she had died at age 10 in terrible pain, which she evidently carried with her into spirit. “I don’t hurt when I’m in you,” she said.

Renee, a mother, evidently allowed Jessica to come in, and in so doing, she inadvertently took on the girl’s physical pain. Classic entity attachment. I don’t know how, when or why this happened. Entities can enter during times of depression, extended anger/negativity, an accident, or as a result of excessive use of drugs/alcohol. There are receptivity factors, which might include opening to an entity out of empathy.

I called in Jessica’s real mother (who was also in spirit). I had her ask her daughter to leave with her and go to the light. But Jessica was too fearful to leave Renee’s body. Eventually, I had all the other seminar participants come over and lay their hands upon my subject. I directed an intense energy build up, to the point we could feel the heat in the palms of our hands. “On the count of three we’ll all release the energy and Jessica this is going to force you out into your mother’s waiting arms. One, two, three.”

It worked. Jessica was forced out and left with her mother. Renee awakened with a surprised look on her face. Prior to this session, her hip had been hurting so bad she could barely sit in a chair. She stood up saying, “My hip doesn’t hurt. I feel so much better.”

Wisdom erases karma.

Was Renee destined to express compassion to help the child and thus learn a powerful lesson? Was it some kind of karmic pay-back? I don’t know. This is either a random universe and there is no meaning to life, or there is some kind of plan. My life work tells me there is a plan, and the only plan that makes logical sense is karma.

Which brings us right back to destiny.

FOLLOW UP: A few weeks later, Renee sent me an e-mail: “I feel okay, but I still have muscle pain. I remember Jessica saying that she did not reside there but she goes and comes back. I am starting to think that she might have been there to console me when I felt lonely, as a sympathy for her own experience with loneliness.”

Energy Cannot Die

While writing “You Were Born Again To Be Together” (Simon & Schuster Pocket Books) I interviewed a physicist working in the government laboratories at White Sands, NM. He told me he used to be an agnostic, but his work had caused him to embrace reincarnation.

“We’re isolating the smallest molecule of energy in a sealed cloud chamber,” he said. “Nothing else can get in and nothing can get out. Since the molecule is smaller than an atom, you can’t see it with the naked eye. But we can photograph it on sensitive film. We see the molecule has a measurable size, weight, pattern, and speed. In time, the molecule drops to the bottom of the cloud chamber appearing to die. When we leave the camera running, pretty soon the molecule is back, only now it has a new size, a new weight, a new pattern, and a new speed.

“Energy cannot die, it can only transform,” he said. “And I know I’m energy, so I can’t die. Reincarnation is the best explanation I’ve found yet.”

Over the years of investigating reincarnation, I’ve written many books on the subject. In my seminars, workshops and retreats, I have group regressed over 175,000 participants, and I’ve regressed thousands individually. But I still cannot tell you with absolute certainty how reincarnation works. What I do know is that everyone has past-life memories tucked away in their subconscious mind. When properly accessed, these memories can be reexperienced.

In my book, “Past Lives Future Loves” (Pocket Books), I wrote about seven possibilities as to how reincarnation may actually work. But no matter how it works, or even if it’s reality, past-life regression has anxiety-releasing results. Often a long-term problem is immediately resolved. Depending upon the type of karma you’re dealing with, learning the cause of your problem can alleviate an effect or is the begging of letting go.

David Viscott, MD says, “All feelings come from some definite event, even if that event cannot be clearly defined or located in time.”

If you were to go into therapy, your counselor would try to learn the cause of your conflict, fear, phobia, or anxiety. All too often, counselors cannot find the cause(s), unless they are using regressive hypnotherapy techniques. In knowing the cause, they can quickly and effectively begin to help you resolve your problem.
