Stop! Rate the Vibrations

When you encounter anger from your partner, you have a choice of mirroring their emotions, or you can remain centered and detached. A choice. So choose to acknowledge your partner’s need to express while refusing to internalize their anger.

When you carry negative emotions, it affects the way you interact with everyone in your life. Internalizing anger generates stress, and all too often it becomes an emotional habit that can have an unhealthy impact on your body.

So the next time you encounter anger, do not instantly react. Instead, STOP! Take a deep breath and tune into the tone and level of the vibrations you find yourself experiencing. You might even want to rate the level of the vibrations on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the most positive. In such an environment you would feel relaxed, at ease and energized. If you rate the vibrations as a one, you are going to experience insecurity, lack of energy and cloudy thinking.

Trust how you rate the vibrations in any interpersonal encounter and try to keep them above a seven. In a lower vibration, refuse to be reactive and defensive. In the moment you take to stop and rate the vibrations, choose to be an adult and “in the moment.” In so doing, maybe you can increase the level of vibration by being positive.

To carry this idea from your relationship to the outer world, check out the vibrational level of any situation or environment you find yourself within. It could be group of people, a restaurant, or a purchase you plan to make. Rate it. If you are buying a book or renting a video, hold the object in your hand, take a deep breath, quiet you mind and trust the vibrational number that comes in. If it is a higher number, you will enjoy it, or learn from it.
