Empaths

An empath is very sensitive to the thoughts of others. They may be overly aware of other people’s moods and feelings. They might even be able to predict what someone is going to say before they say it. For example, if someone they work with becomes depressed, they might start feeling blue themselves without knowing why.

In his book Past Lives, Future Loves, Richard discusses a case history in which this kind of empathy caused a marriage to dissolve. A man named Owen was an empath. He was easily subjected to other people’s mental input that he mistakenly thought was his own. While he knew he was sensitive to others, he didn’t realize the disastrous consequences it could have on his own life. He says, “I’ve messed up my marriage by messing around with about six different lovely ladies. This also meant losing my kid. I screwed up at work because my marriage became such a scene I couldn’t concentrate on what I was supposed to be doing.”

There was one woman in particular who he found himself attracted to, and vice versa. In order to explain their affair, Richard says, “Everyone has a medically measurable brain wave, and tests have proven that two people who have close brain waves, or exactly the same brain waves, will experience a higher degree of ESP with each other than others….[it is probable that] Allison is a highly sexual person and could have been transmitting her own sexual desires and fantasies to Owen. If she was fantasizing having sex with him while masturbating, although he was miles away, he could have mentally picked up sexual desires that he perceived to be his own. The result was additional extramarital involvement.”

If drastic personality or mood changes are a problem in your relationship, you might want to psychically protect yourself (and your partner) from the thought transference of others.
