Don’t Worry About Your Age |
| |
| Oftentimes when someone finds him or herself single at an older age, they begin to panic and think that no one will want to date someone their age. Unfortunately, our society is a “youth-based.” In other words, collectively, we value looking and acting young. So at some point, you might wonder how you will fit in with this societal mindset.
It is important to know that there is much more to youth than just your age. You need to be aware that joy and harmony are youthful energies, while negativity and disharmony are old ones. If you always seek the positive side of any situation and remain joyful, you will also remain youthful. Even though your body will keep aging with natural law, your mind and spirit can remain forever young. When you project youthful energy, you are also adventurous and you experience aliveness and excitement in whatever you do. Only someone youthful will take the risks that make life worth living. If you allow yourself to become old in spirit, you begin to fear losing. When you do that, you start to trade growth opportunities and challenges for security and comfort.
Joy is not generated by people and things outside yourself. The feeling of joy that comes and goes with the change of outside conditions does not last. True joy – and thus youthfulness – comes from deep within.
No matter your age, if you project youthful energy into the world, it is inevitable that others will be drawn to you. Everyone likes to be around (and date) people who are happy and joyous. If all you dwell on is your age and think “who would want me?” – you will be projecting that energy to others. They will pick up on it and thus want to stay away from you. So forget about your age as a number, and instead focus on your attitude and energy. You will likely find a great match.
